To join you need to fill in an application form and pay the applicable membership fee. You can download the form in PDF format by click here; application form. The form can either be sent to us at Dorset Scrapstore, Three Lanes End, Puddletown, Dorchester, DT2 8RR, with a cheque made out to Dorset Scrapstore for the appropriate amount, or you can visit us at Puddletown, hand in the form or fill one in at the time, and start collecting materials there and then.

We have three catagories of membership, namely schools, groups and individuals, as described below. In some circumstances we are willing to consider special rates where the organisation may have a number of disbursed sites or groups, eg. a special rate was given for all DCC maintained schools, Dorset library also negotiated a lower price for their 34 libraries to join instead of the group fee per site. If you would like to be considered for a special rate, please contact the Dorset Scrapstore at Puddletown.

Schools - fee £35  All schools are welcome to join, whether they are LEA maintained or independent; they do not need to be in Dorset either, we currently have some Hampshire schools as members. Departments of FE and HE colleges, and the University, would be treated in the same way as a school, but membership for the whole institution would have to be considered as a special case; contact us at Puddletown to disuss this as needed.

Groups - fee £15  All sorts of community groups are able to join us. Playgroups, nurseries, out-of-school clubs, Sunday schools, scouts, guides, WIs, amateur dramatics - these are just some of the groups who we cater for. We also have day centres for adults with learning difficulties, mental health and occupational therapy centres. So if you belong to a group that could benefit from belonging to the Dorset Scrapstore, join straight away.

Individuals - fee £5  Individuals who join include childminders, students of art & design, members of arts and craft adult education classes, home educators, and mothers with children who love making and decorating things. As long as an individual does not seek to make a profit from our materials, or to pass them on to a group or school in lieu of them joining themselves, they are very welcome to become a member.
