School &Groups

Our School and Group  creative workshops are not running at this time. We will announce on this page when we have new dates.

Looking for something new and exciting for your school, business or community event?

Why not invite Dorset Scrapstore to run a creative workshop and show how you can give new life to old waste? We can run workshops purely for fun, tie it to National Curriculum, centre it on a season or a topic of your choice.

Created and run by our amazing volunteers, our workshops cleverly integrate a wide range of learning outcomes. Choose from a range of styles:

Family Style

Our Family Style workshops encourage adults and children to work together to produce a craft item and enjoy a shared learning experience.

This is a seated workshop, suitable for up to 30 children (plus accompanying adult), ideal for school classes and youth groups.

It is essential that we know the childrens ages in advance so that we can tailor the activities.

Make & Take

These workshops are perfect for events where other activities are also taking place, such as a play day, fundraiser, festival, or school fete.

We will set up a stall and run craft activities showing how to make fun items from recycled materials. Each child will spend a few minutes creating one or two pieces to take away with them.

Skills Workshop

Dorset Scrapstore will visit your school, group, or premises to run a skills workshop for INSET days or for staff training.

We can train teachers, support workers, playtime supervisors, group leaders and childminders to use our recycled scrap materials and how they can then deliver this to groups

Cost

Workshops cost £60 per hour, based on a minimum of 2 hours, and payable prior to the event.
